Measuring:
The best way to measure is to measure an existing, well-fitting collar. Take into account where you would like the collar to fit on your pup.
Slip Collars |
Take into account the collar needing to slip over the head (and ears). |
Tag Collars |
Should be sized to fit over the head and the ears |
Martingale Collars | These collars are designed for the dog to not be able to back out of, therefore the minimum circumference (when the martingale is pulled to its maximum) should be less than the dog's neck size. Measure as you would a regular collar. |
Quick Release collars (fixed length) |
Think where you want the collar to sit on your dog and how much room you'd want |
Adjustable collars |
The size provided will be the middle with some room to go up or down |

General Length Comments:
Except for collars, total length of item (i.e. grooming slips, leashes, etc) does not include the length of the hardware. Hardware length can range from 2-3.5". The nature of handmade items means there is going to be some variance in the length within reason (usually up to 6").
